Computer Based Testing Center Information for Students

Spring 2026 Testing Lab Hours
Monday, Jan 12 - Friday, May 8, 2026
Note: Hours are subject to change without notice due to University closings and/or system maintenance. Testing hours for your particular tests may be different. Refer to your course information for your testing times.
- Testing opens 8:30 AM Monday to Friday, with the last time to start a 60-minute test at 5:00 pm. Testing is closed Saturday and Sunday.
- Note that if your test has a time limit longer than 60 minutes, you must begin the test earlier.
- Consult your instructor for last sign on times specific to your test.
- Spring 2026 HOLIDAY HOURS:
- Closed MLK Jr. Day (Jan. 19)
- Spring Recess (March 23-27) last sign on for a 60-minute test is 4:00 pm.
Scheduling an Appointment
- Testing in Computer Based Testing is available by appointment, or on a walk-in basis. You are strongly encouraged to schedule.
- Students may use to schedule an appointment for their exam by signing in with Âé¶¹Ö±²¥NET ID and password. For students with distraction reduced or extended time test accommodations, these will automatically apply if you sign in to .
- If you do not have a Âé¶¹Ö±²¥NET ID and password, you may schedule using the .
Appointments must be made at least 24-hours in advance. - If you do not show within 30 minutes of your appointment, it will be canceled and you must wait to test as a walk-in.
- If you schedule more than one appointment for a test within the same day, your later appointment(s) will be cancelled.
- Walk-ins are not guaranteed a seat at a specific time slot and may wait in line due to heavy test volume. If you choose to walk-in, you should arrive early to ensure there is enough time left in available testing lab hours to complete your test.
- For placement testing, you are required to schedule an appointment. If you are retaking a placement test, this requires pre-approval by your academic advisor. Retesting fees are paid via the and must be processed before arriving.
Prior to arriving for your test:
- Check the beginning and end date and time of your test per your instructor.
- Check the dates and hours for the testing lab.
- Remember: the posted hours for the testing lab indicate the times during which you may begin a test.
- Be sure that you have your ZipCard and that the name and photo on the ZipCard is completely legible.
Taking tests in Schrank Hall North 152:
- Upon arrival, you will sign in on the CBT laptop or via QR code on your phone. If you made an appointment, you will check-in. If you walked in without an appointment, you will select walk-in to add yourself to the waitlist.
- You will then check in with a staff member with your ZipCard, be assigned to a computer, and given required materials for your test. All other belongings must be stored out of sight. Students are not permitted to select their own seat.
- Prohibited items include but are not limited to: cell phones, smart watches or glasses, earbuds or other listening devices, any other electronic devices or accessories unless specified by your instructor (e.g. calculator), hats or other headwear, food and drink, tobacco or any other substances, and air fragrances/oils.
- All devices must be powered off and placed out of sight (in your bag or the bag provided by CBT at your assigned seat).
- Only CBT staff and students who are testing are permitted in the testing lab. Per university policy, children may not be in the testing lab or left unattended on campus.
- Service animals are permitted in accordance with Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Service Animal Guidelines.
- Locate your assigned seat and select Brightspace, log-in, and start your exam. For all other exams, ask a staff member for assistance.
- Once you begin testing, you may not leave the room or your test will be ended and your instructor will be notified. If you must leave the room for an emergency, notify a staff member for assistance.
Please respect others taking tests by remaining quiet while in the testing center. - The test center is monitored by proctors and is under video surveillance at all times.
- Violation of testing lab policies and any suspected violation of the Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Student Code of Conduct will be reported to Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ officials. This includes that test takers are not permitted to take any test content out of the center, such as scratch paper or photos of test content.
Accommodations from the Office of Accessibility (OA):
- If you are registered with the Office of Accessibility, you can request a distraction-reduced testing room if this accommodation is approved by signing in with your Âé¶¹Ö±²¥NET ID and password to .
- Extended time is assigned to your exam by your instructor.
- All other testing accommodations, including taking paper-based exams, should be scheduled through STARS at .
